Tickets to the 2023 Night Glow, at the Clareville Showgrounds, provided 5 hours of action-packed entertainment, including:

  • air balloon walk-throughs

  • drone racing

  • model aeroplane displays

  • live music from The Shenanigans 

  • bouncy castle for the kids

  • selection of art and craft stalls from Wairarapa artisans

  • the magical Night Glow balloons performance - lit up to music

  • delicious food and beverage options from Wairarapa's largest range of street food vendors

  • an unforgettable experience

Ticket Options:

There are a number of ticket options available. If you're a family, take advantage of the family ticket, giving you entry for 2 adults and up to 3 children.​ Prices below include any Eventfinda fees. PLEASE NOTE EARLY BIRD TICKETS HAVE CLOSED.

Picnic Hampers


After something a little more special? The Screening Room have put together some exclusive Wairarapa Balloon Festival Hampers. These delicious hampers can be ordered when you purchase your ticket. 

The hampers include:

  • Hummus, hazelnut dukkah, baguette and olive oil

  • Marinated and BBQ’d chicken maryland, kaffir lime and ginger drizzle

  • Fresh cabbage and chorizo slaw, currants, spiced almonds, and fresh herbs

  • Mediterranean roast vegetable, quinoa and brown rice salad, lemon, fresh herbs, olive oil and feta

  • Dark chocolate cake with salted caramel mousse 

Each hamper is $35.00 per person. They will include bamboo cutlery and napkin. These can be purchased when buying your Night Glow ticket, or at a later date by going to My Eventfinda online, select My Tickets and then see events. You will then see a ‘Buy Merchandise’ button which will take you to the hamper add ons.

Please note hamper purchases close at mid-night on the 4th April.

Picnic Hamper collection


When you are ready to pick up your hamper head to The Screening Room marquee. The marquee will be situated just inside the northern gate at Entrance 1 and will be clearly sign posted with The Screening Room logo. 


Hamper pick up is between 3pm – 6.30pm. Your hamper comes with utensils and a napkin so ready to go.

Campsite Tickets:

There will be a dedicated area for campervans, self-contained caravans and motorhomes right in the centre of the action, at Clareville Showgrounds. These sites are exclusively available for Night Glow ticket holders, for just $15 per night, or $10 per night for NZMCA members. Available from Wednesday 5 April until Tuesday 11 April 2023.

Camping is for self contained vehicles only.

These can be purchased when buying your Night Glow ticket, or at a later date by going to My Eventfinda online, select My Tickets and then see events. You will then see a ‘Buy Merchandise’ button which will take you to the camping add ons. NZMCA members need to enter their membership number when purchasing campsite tickets, to redeem their discounted campsite rate.

  • Camping check in: Tuesday 4 Apr - Friday 7 Apr - gates open 10am - 12pm and 4-6pm only

  • Camping check in on Saturday 8 April: Access from 9am to 2pm (closed after this to allow night glow traffic to arrive.


If the event needs to be postponed, it will take place on Sunday 9 April. A decision on postponement will be made by 8pm Friday 7 April. If the event is postponed tickets will automatically be transferred to Sunday 9 April.

If it cannot be held on Sunday 9 April, you will be notified of this by 8pm on Saturday 8 April. The event will be cancelled, and you will be given the choice of a ticket refund (minus the booking and credit card fees), or to transfer your ticket to 2024. If this happens you will receive an email outlining these details in the days that follow.

Weather impact on Balloon Night Glow: 

The weather and wind may affect when the Balloon Glow (the part of the programme when the balloons are lit up) happens and the type and length of the hot air balloons performance.  5.30pm is the earliest time that the Balloon Glow can take place. Balloons will be secured to the ground throughout the performance. No refunds will be given if the balloons are unable to perform to their full potential. The Night Glow provides hours of entertainment, and the Balloon Glow is only one part of the event.

No pets. No smoking or vaping:

No dogs or pets allowed. This is a smoke-free and vape-free event. Bag inspections will be conducted at the gate, and you may have your bag searched. We have a huge selection of food vendors at the event, or you are welcome to bring a picnic. We are managing the capacity of this festival by limiting ticket sales. For more information, click here.

This event is brought to you by Ballooning Wairarapa. All money from ticket sales contribute towards the festival costs, and any surplus will be reinvested into Wairarapa Ballooning. We use local suppliers wherever possible, to ensure the money generated from this festival benefits our community.
