Hello Wairarapa Balloon Festival ticketholders,

 

We can’t wait to welcome you to Clareville Showgrounds on Saturday, it’s going to be a fun-filled evening! At this stage the weather is looking fine, but please keep an eye on the weather reports, and dress appropriately. 

 

Below is some important information about The Night Glow. 

  

When does the Night Glow start and finish?

 

2pm      Parking opens

3pm     Gates open

4pm      Entertainment begins

9pm      Finish (approx)

 

Buying extra tickets?

 

If you are wanting to purchase additional tickets, we strongly encourage you buy them BEFORE the event to avoid any queues or delays. Gate sales will take some time to process, and there will be a limited number of tickets available at the gate. The gate ticket price will differ slightly, see here for prices

 

Parking

 

We have free onsite parking with a great crew who will do everything they can to make entering and exiting the event as smooth as possible. We are working with our traffic management team to ensure traffic flows the best it can, however, traffic may slow at times, please be patient. 

 

Parking is limited so we encourage you to get there early. Parking opens at 2pm. 

 

How to get to The Clareville Showgrounds? 

 

From the North: Travel south on SH2 from Masterton, turn right into Wiltons Road (new roundabout) continue along Wiltons Road for 4.6km, turn left at the T intersection, follow Chester Road for 6km. Event entrance is on your left just over the railway crossing.  Follow parking marshals directions to park in showgrounds paddocks.

 

From the South: Travel north on SH2 through Carterton, 2.6km from Carterton shopping centre, turn left into Chester Road, turn right into event entrance 100m along Chester Road. Follow parking marshals directions to park in showgrounds paddocks.

 

How do I get out after the event?

Follow the directions from the parking marshals' out to Chester Road. You will be guided from there.

 

Will there be door sales?

 

Yes there will be door sales, however these tickets will be limited, so we strongly encourage you purchase them before arrival.  The gate ticket price will differ slightly, see here for prices

 

Will there be an ATM at the Night Glow?


No, however most of the food vendors will have their own Eftpos facilities. We also encourage you to bring cash. 

 

Picnic Hamper collection 

 

If you have purchased a picnic hamper, head to The Screening Room marquee when you are ready. The marquee will be situated just inside the northern gate at Entrance 1 and will be clearly sign posted with The Screening Room logo. 

 

Hamper pick up is between 3pm – 6.30pm. Your hamper comes with utensils and a napkin so ready to go.

 

Camping information 

 

Camping is only available to those who have purchased camping ticket through Eventfinda. 

 

Camping check in: Tuesday 4 Apr - Friday 7 Apr - gates open 10am - 12pm and 4-6pm only

Camping check in on Saturday 8 April: Access from 9am to 2pm (closed after this to allow night glow traffic to arrive.

 

Are pets allowed in the camping area?

Pets are allowed in the camping area. Dogs must be on a lead at all times. No pet are allowed at the Night Glow event, see below. 

 

Self-contained vehicles only:

The camp area for the Balloons Festival is separate from the advertised Clareville camping area and not close to toilets or water. All campervans, caravans and motorhomes must be self-contained for the length of their stay.

 

Alcohol Policy

 

We are a family-friendly alcohol free event. There will be no be alcohol sold at the Night Glow and ticketholders are unable to bring any alcohol into the event. We reserve the right to search any persons or bags brought into the Night Glow and will confiscate any alcohol found. Thanks for your cooperation. 

 

Pet Policy 

Keep your fur babies at home. The Night Glow is not a pet-friendly event; the hot-air balloons scare most animals. You will not be allowed access the Night Glow with a dog, no matter its size. Pets are allowed in the camping area, see above. 

 

And lastly thank you! 

The Night Glow is a community event organised by Wairarapa Balloon Society, alongside a whole team of volunteers working hard to make this the best event we can. All profits will benefit our community and ensure the Wairarapa Balloon Festival can return in the future.
