From Texas, ‘Pandy’ makes his first trip outside of the United States to fly exclusively in New Zealand at Trust House Balloons over Wairarapa.   Built in Brazil, the big boy stands as tall as an eight-storey building and holds 3,540 cubic metres of hot air. Construction required 2,148 square metres of fabric and if he was a real bear he would weigh 4,200 tonnes!  Pandy’s shape and design is the only one of its kind in the world with interior rigging holding the many sections forming the shape in place.

From Ohio, Sunny Boy loved Wairarapa so much in 2004 that he and his pilot, Carol Weiner, return this year to shine in our skies and catch up with old friends.  Standing 43m high, Sunny Boy has enough surface area on one side to fry 1.8 million eggs.  He sports a cool shaded look with sunglasses on one side and is wide-eyed on the other.

With Easter just around the corner, A giant egg will take to Wairarapa skies in this year's event.
